John Hyland’s hands-on management approach and in-depth construction insurance experience make him a valuable leader to Allied North America of New Jersey, where he oversees all client-related aspects of this office.

As Managing Director, John ensures that his team provides strategic insurance and surety solutions to his growing client roster, troubleshooting as necessary on the most complex issues, based on his:

	In-depth understanding of the insurance industry and construction market. With more than 25 years’ experience, John’s first-hand knowledge is an asset to such clients as Bilotta Construction and KSW Mechanical Corp.
	Specialized surety expertise. As both a surety underwriter – and broker – he’s been involved in the placement of bonds for such high-profile projects as the $300 million Olmstead Lock & Dam, the $150 million Brooklyn/Queens Expressway project and the $45 million Throgs Neck Bridge rehabilitation.
	Solid relationships with major carriers. With nearly two decades as an underwriter, John knows the surety marketplace from the inside and puts this knowledge – and his professional relationships – to work for his clients.

Prior to joining Allied’s Somerville office, he was Senior Vice President of XL Insurance, following three years as President of Hartford Fidelity and Bond. He began his career with Seaboard Surety, where he spent 18 years in underwriting positions of increasing responsibility. John is a member of the Construction Finance Management Association (CFMA), the Utility Contractors Association and the Association of General Contractors. He holds a Bachelor’s degree in Economics and Finance from Manhattan College.
