Thirty-year professional with “full circle” perspective
joins as Vice President at Allied North America Subsidiary
Jericho, NY, May 2008 – Project Technologies International (PTI), the wrap-up insurance subsidiary of construction brokerage leader Allied North America, has appointed D. Martin Sanders as Vice President of Claims for PTI operations from coast-to-coast.
A 30-year industry veteran, Marty brings a unique “full circle” perspective to his role at PTI, where he now leads a team of professionals responsible for providing superior claims service and pro-active loss control solutions.
“Marty’s experience is far-reaching and impressive. He’s worked for the railroad, first as a construction worker then as claims manager. He’s been an attorney and managed wrap-ups at a major underwriter. The depth – and breadth – of his experience is truly unparalleled and makes him a valuable asset to the PTI team,” says Alejandra Evans, Allied Executive Vice President of Business Development for PTI.
Marty spent more than ten years on the carrier side, where he was responsible for managing the risk on some of the largest stadium, transportation and urban infrastructure projects undertaken during that decade. He also worked for AMTRAK for 15 years, a successful tenure that he began in track, signal and switch construction while completing law school.
“I’ve spent my entire career dealing with, and effectively managing, the risks associated with construction – in the field, as a claims and litigation manager and wrap-up administrator,” he says. “My natural affinity with both the construction worker and the carrier enables me to not only expedite the claims process, but also work with our clients, underwriters and safety professionals to help prevent accidents from happening in the first place.”
In his role at PTI, Marty will work closely with the safety and loss control division of parent company Allied North America, as well as with company-managed Safety Groups to provide a comprehensive claims management solution and to develop and implement sponsor-focused loss control strategies for PTI clients.
Prior to joining PTI, Marty was a senior vice president at a national brokerage after spending 11 years with AIG Construction Risk Management, where he was ultimately responsible for wrap-up program servicing on over 450 accounts. He began his construction career at the National Railroad Passenger Corporation, initially in track construction and then as a claims manager. He holds a Construction Risk Insurance Specialist (CRIS) designation, an undergraduate degree from Virginia Commonwealth University and a law degree from the University of Baltimore.
