Jericho, NY, June 28, 2007 – Allied North America, the leading independent insurance and surety brokerage serving the construction industry, has appointed Terry R. Tennant as Senior Vice President of its Allied Risk Solutions, LLC division, the industry’s only risk management consulting business created solely to meet the needs of architects, engineers, contractors, builders and owners.
Combining professional liability expertise with extensive underwriting, claims and risk management know-how, Tennant is an innovator in integrated design build programs, effectively leveraging professional liability insurance with builders’ risk and general liability coverage to enable architects, engineers and contractors to more effectively manage risk. A resource to Allied clients from coast-to-coast, Tennant is based in the brokerage’s Missouri office and will report to Lauren Gregory, President of Allied Risk Solutions.
“Terry’s proven track record managing some of the largest, most complex architect, engineer and construction design liability programs in North America makes him a valuable asset to Allied Risk Solutions, where we provide innovative strategies that help clients manage the most complex risk,” explains Gregory. While serving as a resource to Allied’s domestic operations, Tennant also will be part of the team spearheading the agency’s European growth as well.
“The opportunity to tap into the European marketplace is truly outstanding,” Tennant comments. “But what is equally exciting to me is the opportunity to leverage my risk management expertise to show existing clients the best ways to integrate and structure their multiple lines of coverage to minimize overlaps, as well as close potential gaps.”
Prior to joining Allied, Tennant spent more than 20 years with CNA, most recently as Underwriting Consulting Director of their Architects Engineers Construction (AEC) Design Liability Unit after spending several years as both an underwriter and claims manager. He holds the insurance professional designation of Associate Risk Management (ARM) and a bachelor’s degree in Urban Planning from the College of Charleston.
