Jericho, NY, July 2, 2007 – Allied North America, the leading independent insurance and surety brokerage serving the construction industry, has appointed Lawrence N. Bonino as President of American Safety Consultants, LLC, its loss control division.
A professional with more than 25 years’ experience, Bonino brings both a comprehensive construction industry perspective and extensive safety, health and risk management expertise to the helm of American Safety, where he is responsible for providing, directing and coordinating safety services to a growing base of clients from coast-to-coast.
“Larry’s unique combination of hands-on experience, business acumen and his strategic approach to training program development will make him a valuable asset to Allied,” says Henry Lombardi, President and Chief Operating Office of Allied North America. “He knows how to create programs that reduce incidents – and increase savings – and has the track record to prove it.” As the Vice President of Risk Management for R.E. Pierson Construction Company, Bonino effectively decreased the annual number of incidents by over 200% over four years, resulting in savings in excess of a million dollars.
“Regardless of the program or business, I’ve found the best approach is to work with both senior executives and safety managers to assess the overall environment – and adapt proven techniques to that environment – in order to affect lasting corporate change,” Bonino explains. “To me, the ‘quick fix’ just isn’t an option; it’s long-term results that count.”
Prior to joining Allied, Bonino spent four years with R.E. Pierson. Before that, he served as a safety and health instructor and management consultant for 20 years. During that time, he also served as the founding director of two nationally-recognized safety-training companies. A firm believer in sharing his knowledge with others, Bonino also has authored and served as the technical editor on numerous articles and training manuals.
