Jericho, NY, July 18, 2007 – Allied North America, the leading independent insurance and surety broker serving the construction industry, has announced the formation of the Allied Marine Group, a new division that will focus on providing innovative risk management solutions to clients in the brown and blue water operations, transportation and construction industries.
With a core of five marine insurance veterans who have worked together for more than 30 years, the new Allied team brings decades of hands-on experience in the maritime industry and marine insurance, risk management and claims advocacy. Based in St. Louis, Allied Marine Group is part of Allied North America Insurance Brokerage of Missouri, and will serve as a resource to Allied offices from coast-to-coast, according to Henry Lombardi, President and Chief Operating Officer of the Allied Group of Companies.
The new Allied Marine Group is “undoubtedly the foremost team of professionals in their specialty and brings a comprehensive, service-driven solution to the brokerage’s growing client base,” says Lombardi. The group also brings with them a strong track record with clients in their market, according to recently-named Vice Presidents Meg Moore and Douglas E. Scholin, who lead the Allied Marine Group.
“This group combines the unparalleled expertise with the specialized industry focus that has been the hallmark of Allied since the very beginning,” says Lombardi. “The Allied platform will prove valuable to their clients while their in-depth experience will benefit our marine contractor clients.”
The Marine Group also includes industry experts Wendell Macejak, Janet Paulus and Sharon Dudley who specialize in helping clients effectively identify and manage the risks associated with river and ocean marine operations, construction and transportation. Their collective marine insurance coverage expertise includes: hull and machinery; builder’s risk; protection and indemnity; marine and excess marine liability; cargo, stock throughput and trade disruption; vessel pollution; contractors’ equipment, and bumbershoot.
